Criminals often target homes by offering to resurface driveways, trim trees, clear weeds, or clean gutters—usually at the door and for a “reasonable” price. However, genuine landscapers and gardeners do not operate door-to-door and never ask for upfront payment.

Some rogue traders also misuse online recommendation platforms, using fake reviews and images to appear trustworthy.
